Profile
This allrounder did not kill the opposition softly but slayed them in quite the opposite fashion when he started his career in the Free State. Born Wycliffe Andrew Deacon, the left-arm fast bowler was the top wicket-taker in the Standard Bank Pro20 in its first three seasons. In 2003-04, Deacon took nine wickets in six matches at an average of 7.70, in the 2004-05 season he scalped 11 wickets in six matches at an average of 11.45 and in the 2005-06 season he claimed 12 wickets in seven matches at an average of 11.33. When his prowess waned the following season, he moved to the Lions, where he has established himself as their premier death bowler and can administer some bludgeoning blows with the bat as well.
